About The MetaScience Press Publisher
The International Journal of Nutrology (IJN) is the official scientific journal of the Brazilian Association of Nutrology (ABRAN). ABRAN is the journal owner, and MetaScience Press is the publisher responsible for the journal's publishing management and administration.
Ownership and Publishing Arrangement
Journal owner: Brazilian Association of Nutrology (ABRAN), a Brazilian medical specialty association.
Publisher: MetaScience Press.
ABRAN establishes the journal's institutional mission and governance. MetaScience Press provides administrative, technical, and production support for the publication of IJN, including management of the OJS publishing platform, editorial-production coordination, online publication, publication metadata and DOI support, and technical dissemination of the journal's content.
Editorial Independence
The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Team have independent authority over peer review and editorial decisions. Decisions to accept, revise, or reject manuscripts are based on scientific merit, relevance to the journal's scope, methodological quality, originality, and compliance with ethical and editorial requirements.
ABRAN, MetaScience Press, sponsors, advertisers, service providers, commercial interests, and the payment or waiver of Article Processing Charges do not determine the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts. The publisher does not interfere with the confidential peer-review process or replace the scientific judgment of the journal's editors.
Publisher Responsibilities
In coordination with the journal owner and Editorial Team, MetaScience Press is responsible for:
- maintaining and administering the journal's online publishing platform;
- supporting editorial workflows, production, formatting, and online publication;
- supporting DOI registration and the maintenance and dissemination of publication metadata;
- supporting website availability, technical continuity, and access to published content;
- implementing corrections, retractions, and other post-publication actions authorized by the journal's editorial leadership;
- providing administrative and technical assistance to authors, reviewers, editors, and readers; and
- supporting compliance with the journal's published editorial, ethical, open-access, and preservation policies.
Editorial decisions remain the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief and the designated editors. The respective duties of authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher are described in the Author, Reviewer and Publisher Responsibilities.
Institutional Background
MetaScience Press was established in 2019 and was created and developed within the innovation ecosystem of UNESP – São Paulo State University, Institute of Biosciences, Humanities and Exact Sciences (IBILCE), in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, Brazil.
